I have always loved drawing- a skill which is very reliant upon one's ability to really look at the subject. When I can get to it, life drawing is one of my favourites. My drawings are done in oil pastel, ink washes, graphite, conte and charcoal. I favour black and white and will work from either life, or a clear photograph, no problem.

Drawing is highly dependent upon your state of mind. I find that if I am stressed I really can't draw that well, so I think this has a lot to do with focus. When I am confident and relaxed, I produce my best drawings.

It's also been invaluable for things like storyboarding and visualising my next artwork, since I can see the idea in my mind, then I draw it onto the paper in front of me. Often, these tumbnails have a better feel than the intended artwork!
